Itinerary

Each participant is responsible for making his/her own reservations at the designated lodging places shown below.  Luggage service will be provided only to these lodgings.  Please do not plan to stay anywhere else.  You must have reservations at one of these lodgings for each night you plan to be on the trip prior to submitting your registration forms.  As you make your reservations, fill in the confirmation number (if any) on the registration forms . This form should be returned to the Yocktrek coordinator by April 1, 2009.

Rooms are held for our group at each lodging place through the reservation deadline date indicated.  After that, rooms may not be available, and the stated rate may not be honored. Cancellation policies vary widely between small local B&Bs/inns and large chain hotels, and each participant is responsible for their own cancellations.  Ask for and be sure you understand the proprietor’s cancellation policies.

Due to lodging capacity limitations on some nights, some lodgings are designated (Full Occupancy Required!).  We strongly encourage you if possible to fully utilize the lodging capacity at those places by sharing rooms with a roommate.  We really need to double up in order to accommodate the whole trip (we won't ask you to share your bed, but please help us use all the beds). This will allow the trip to be enjoyed by as many participants as possible given the lodging constraints.  If you would like help finding a roommate, contact the Yocktrek Coordinator.

All rooms are held under the name “Yockatomac Trek.”

Tell them you are with the group when you call.

Saturday, June 13
Arrive at Georgetown

The luggage van and transport van will leave from the Boston Waterfront Restaurant parking lot at 10AM and arrive at the Best Western New Hampshire Suites at around 3PM.   If you want your bike/gear on either of these vans, be there before 9:30AM to load up.  Unless you are riding in one of the vans, getting yourself to Georgetown is your responsibility.  As an incentive for you to get your reservation in early, there will be a limited number of seats on the support van for $25 per seat.  These will be offered on a first come basis.  Riders will be contacted in the order their reservations are received.  The price is low because the van is going there anyway and all funds go into the general kitty.

For all others, you may book a ride on the shuttle, which will also meet us at the Boston Waterfront, or you can get yourself to Georgetown any other way you can.  It’s your trip.  Some out of towners may choose to meet the group in Georgetown and shuttle back or leave out of Pittsburgh.  Here’s the contact information for the shuttle van.

Please note that the support van is not the Titanic.  It will only hold so much.  We don’t want to act like an airline by limiting you to one suitcase and a carry-on, but please try to pack light.  Coolers will be available for the group, so you don’t need to bring your own.
